Today we created a silly baby shower flyer to post around the offices for a colleague. Heather is having her first boy, and she is decorating his room with a cowboy theme. Michelle riffed on the theme by portraying Heather and her family of humans and dogs catching up the baby with a lasso. Her huge Leonberger dog doubles as her trusty steed.
Some people enjoy seeing the path that it takes to get to a completed illustration. If you are one of those people, then it may interest you to know that Michelle was inspired by a water conservation graphic that she made three months ago:
She started the baby shower flyer with a similar illustration.
The baby looked perilously close to the ground.
He got rearranged up into the air as if he was a bouncing baby boy. The family and dogs remained lined up below.
It still wasn’t working, until Michelle figured out the best dynamic arrangement with Heather alone roping in her baby.
Work went smoothly from there.
